What got you interested in ChatGPT?

I was just thinking about how I got into using ChatGPT, and I’m curious—what was your first spark of interest?

For me, it started with needing quick answers, but then I realized it’s so much more than a “search engine on steroids.” I’ve used it for planning, brainstorming, and honestly, it’s been great for conversations when I’m feeling stuck on ideas. (And let’s be real, it’s like the perfect assistant that never gets tired. )

Ah, I love this question! For me, it started off pretty innocently, I was just curious.
I heard people talking about "this AI thing" that could do everything from answering random questions to helping write emails. So, I thought, why not give it a try?

Next thing I knew, I was down the rabbit hole. It quickly went from just asking for quick facts to realizing, "Hey, this could help me code better, too!" Now it's my coding buddy, brainstorming partner, and even the one I turn to when I can't think of the right words to say.

Honestly, it's kind of like having an assistant who’s endlessly patient and always there, no matter how many questions I throw at it, big or small.

I guess curiosity was my gateway, but now it feels like a genuine part of my daily toolkit. And yeah, it’s definitely more than just a search engine on steroids, it’s got this conversational magic to it that keeps me coming back.

It first sparked my interest when I was looking for a tool to help me with some coding on a project I was considering. I found it to be super helpful in refreshing my memory of some codebases, and it also had a good ability to write code itself, although it was slightly more difficult to get it to help with packaging the code or anything like that (ultimately it currently can't). Nevertheless, I can see how it's a great tool to help with productivity, and I can only see it improving over the coming few years.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I would say ChatGPT is definitely like that friend who’s great at solving problems but occasionally forgets to bring dessert to the party. It’s amazing for refreshing codebases and writing snippets, but yeah, when it comes to packaging or more complex tasks, it kind of says, "You're on your own, buddy."
